What Are the Health Benefits of Hot Red Peppers?

Read Transcript

Hot peppers have a chemical in them called capsaicin and that is what makes the peppers hot, but when we eat them our body responds to that extreme heat by producing endorphins, so we actually get kind of a runners high from eating hot peppers and bell peppers unfortunately don't have the effect but anything from an anaheim very mild pepper to a jalapeno to the super super super hot scotch bonnet and Thai chili peppers, they will all do the trick and you can eat them raw but if you cook them it doesn't take the capsaicin away but it does make them a little bit more palatable.
