Watch as obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Evelyn Minaya explains how Kegel exercises can help with urinary incontinence issues.
Urinary incontinence remember, is one of the things that causes it, is also a pelvic floor dysfunction. What that means is that all the muscles that make up the pelvic floor also influence how much incontinence you actually have, so with that said kegel exercises which is the strengthening of those muscles will absolutely help. Now the way to do kegel exercises is very very important, you just can't do one, it's kind of like doing repetitions, I usually tell my patients you do 10 a set of 10 in the morning, a set of 10 at lunch time and another set of 10 at dinner.
So that and it's really squeezing those muscles so that it really improves sometimes in your incontinence.
