What Makes Botox Work for Migraines?

It's not completely understood, but it's somewhat understood, and the Botox for migraines does not really work by relaxing the muscles. Its mechanisms of action is by blocking the release of inflammatory pain chemicals preferably which then acts most like a circuit breaker to block the cycles centrally into the brain that worsen migraines pain.

They did a very interesting study where they pre-treated one side of the forehead botox and not the other, and then they injected capation which is inflammatory chemical into the forehead, and they only got redness and irritation on the non treated side.
