Are Full Or Nearly Full Recoveries from Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) Becoming More Common?

I see people make remarkable recoveries. Before going into pain management, I actually I was in physical medicine and rehabilitation so we worked with people who had spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, amputations, really life-changing events and so if people have the right circumstances in terms of their injury, in terms of their treatment, maybe genetics or environment, people are able to overcome a lot, but a lot of it is still outside of our control or even the person's control.

So, even though there are advances I would not say that's the expectation. For most people with devastating injuries, so we try to restore their quality of life so that they can function as fast as possible but we don't usually hold them to the expectations that things will go back to the way they were.
