Alzheimer's has a strong genetic component for people who have parents with Alzheimer's disease at an early age. For example, if your parents had developed Alzheimer's disease in their 50s and 60s, I'm sorry to say that's a bad sign. However, there's a small minor DNA component for people whose parents developed Alzheimer's disease in their 80s or 90s.

So that's not as a strong factor for Alzheimer's disease when it starts late in life. But it's a major risk factors when it starts early in life. There are genetic testing available for people who have parents with early onset of Alzheimer's disease. However, there's no testing genetic or otherwise to determine if somebody has Alzheimer's disease.
