Ear acupuncture differs from traditional acupuncture because no needles are needed, but that's not all. To learn more, watch this video featuring traditional Asian medicine expert and Dr. Oz guest Daniel Hsu.
In the past, we used to use just regular really small needles for the ear, and those worked very, very well, the only thing is that you can only use them while you're in the office. So the idea is what do we do if we want to constantly stimulate the points? So people can get 247 acupuncture, and one of the best ways that we found, is to use these semi-permanent studs, they actually stay in the ear for a while, three to four days, may be up to a week, they can fall out, you can take them out on your own if they irritate you, but they actually work very well, it's like having your acupunturist with you all the time, and it's very, very effective.
Daniel Hsu, DAOM is a doctor and teacher of acupuncture and traditional Asian medicine. He founded the New York AcuHealth clinic in New York has been published in numerous acupuncture journals.
