So when we look at the science, what it really tells us is that when we want to keep our brain sharp and protect ourselves from developing serious memory loss, we simply need to be engaged. We need to be engaged in terms of our physical health, our intellectual health and also a social and emotional well being so look for activities where you are getting aerobic exercise, eat well, keep your weight down, stay intellectually curious and engaged and stay social, go out hang with friends, do things that get you out among people, those things are going to matter to your brain, both in terms of staying sharp day to day as well as well as reducing your risk for dementia.
