Are There Any Side Effects From Radiofrequency Ablation?

Well with any procedure where you take a needle and break the skin barrier, there's always going to be a risk of complications or side effects. Such as infections, bleeding, nerve damage, increased pain and possibly even death. The question is how often do these problems and collectively much less percent.

In my practice in which we've done this procedure thousands of times, the common side effect is post-operative neuritis. What that basically means is due to the heating of the nerve, the nerve will be inflamed and will cause a little bit more pain before you get better. This usually results with an approximately 1-2 weeks time and it's treated easily with application of ice and over-the-counter medications such as Ceudomedphin or abriprophane and other anti-inflamatory medication.
