Is Greek (or Turkish) Coffee Better for You Than Regular Coffee?

Read Transcript

Greek coffee, I would not say that Greek coffee is actually better for you than regular coffee because of the method of preparation, but per ounce it contains a greater concentration of a group of compounds called the chlorogenic acids. If you would make your drip coffee or your French press in the same concentration, you would in fact get the same benefits, but a Greek coffee because it is super concentrated, has a wapping load of these antioxidant compounds, and we know that the chlorogenic acids are beneficial for cardiovascular health, that they help to reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes, that they help us to actually control and stabilize a healthy weight, that the chlorogenic acids reduce the risk of certain types of cancers, so they're very protective and especially concentrated in the Greek form of coffee.
