What Are the Symptoms of Pneumonia?

Read Transcript

The symptoms of pneumonia are very similar to bronchitis. Patients can present with either cough, a cough productive of sputum, fevers, shortness of breath or chest pain. Just based on symptoms it's impossible to distinguish pneumonia from a bronchitis. Most patients need an X-ray to be able to tell the difference.

What pneumonia is it's an infection that has gotten into the lung tissue itself as opposed to isolated in the airways. If untreated this could become a serious condition with some complications.
