Antioxoidants can be an effective antidote for aging skin. In this video, Dr. Oz guest Anne Chapas, M.D., explains how antioxidants can help ward off wrinkles and lines.
Antioxidants in skincare products act like sponges to really soak up something called oxidative damage, oxidative damage happens in our skin and when our skin is bombarded with irritants such as pollution, sun and other type of irritants and it can't be, it makes these what are called free radicals, even if they are out our skin or oxidative damage. This is a problem for our skin because this is what damages and collagen and eventually leads to fine lines and wrinkles. When we soak up those free radicals with antioxidants though that damage is stopped and hopefully wrinkles won't develop.
