Is My Diet Important for Skin Health?

For many years we assumed that diet was important for skin health, but more recently we've actually found specifically controlled studies that show eating a good diet is very important for skin health. A group in Australia actually studied two groups of male teenagers, they had one on a very heavy sugar diet.

Eating a lot of processed sugars and sweets, and then they had one group that was on a very healthy diet using only wheat breads and and lots of fruits and vegetables. What they found is that in the fruits and vegetables group that acne in these young teens cleared remarkably in eight weeks with no intervention.

While the teens that were eating that high sugar diet were actually had severe acne and couldn't really break their acne cycle. So it really is a very clear test showing that at least an acne eating a healthy diet is key to improving your skin health.
