You probably know a lot about cholesterol, but how much do you know about triglycerides? I am Dr. Oz. This forgotten fat doesn't always get the attention it deserves. Triglycerides ferry the fat and cabs you eat to your muscles to use for energy, or to your fat cells for storage. When you weigh too much and sit too much you windup with Triglycerides overload, that doubles your risk for stroke and makes you six times more likely to have a heart attack, ideally your Triglyceride level should be under 100.

If it's higher, you have four ways to bring it down. Watch your weight losing just 5-10% of your body weight could cut levels by 20% start walking. Log an extra 5000 steps a day to slash your triglycerides level 19% in just 6 weeks. Add Omega-3 fatty acids to your diet. You'll find them in Salmon, Trout, fish oil or DHA capsules.
