Diabetes doubles to triples your risk of heart attack. It puts your risk level at around the same risk as somebody who already had a heart attack to have their second one. That's how big a deal is. The reason is that elevated blood sugar in blood stream doesn't belong there in that quantity and it starts doing bad things it starts dinging the inside of your blood vessels, and it leads to the formation together with the cocktail of high blood pressure and high cholesterol starts leading to premature formation of plaque atherosclerosis and overtime that will lead to coronary artery disease which can then lead to heart attack..
