Every disease is ultimately curable, says HealthMaker Stephen Sergay, MD, clinical neurologist. In this video he explains that there was hope that the identification of the human genome would give us all the answers, but that was not the case.
We had hopes that the discovery of the identification of the human genome would provide us with every answer unlike everything else I have ever known in medicine. Unfortunately, thaT's not the case and everything is really an intimate mix of not only one gene, but often multiple genes and also environmental issues and it's far deeper than we actually gave it credence for in the past, but I believe every disease ultimately is curable.
Previously Stephen Sergay, MD, was a neurologist at the Lahey Clinic Foundation and was an instructor in neurology at Harvard Medical School. He completed medical school in Africa and his neurology residency at Harvard Longwood.
