Generally speaking we think of Cataracts as becoming significant when they affect visual function quality of life. Early Cataracts can do anything from create cleat glare, light scatter and discomfort under very specific conditions such as driving a car night, or one might find simply that there's a general loose in contrast and an over role quality of vision.
Stephen McLeod, MD, is chair of ophthalmology at UCSF. He specializes in refractive surgery, cataracts and corneal disease. He has focused on the development of an intraocular lens to restore near vision to cataract surgery patients.
