Public/private partnerships are a growing trend in the healthcare industry. In this video, HealthMaker Scott Ratzan, MD, explains how these arrangements affect healthcare, and how they can work with regulatory systems to be all-around successful.
I think public/private partnerships probably are going to be of the way of the future and yes I think they are more effective sometimes in just government systems alone or private systems alone, and frankly there's a positive role to be played by regulators, you know regulators can help build the quality, at the same time bring in a system that helps bring appropriate medicines to market and there's regulatory systems don't always have to be behind closed doors only by the government.
They would be benefit with health diplomacy by having private sector to academia and researchers there as well.
Scott C. Ratzan, MD, is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Health Communication: International Perspectives. He says fixing healthcare begins with improving health literacy among patients -- along public/private health partnerships.
