It's a condition which makes us disease prone. That's the way I will define it. But its unlike some diseases, we weary. We look at somebody and we assume that their obesity is because is their fault, that they've done something wrong. But maybe that they don't have the right environment, they have it.
Some of us are more prone to obesity because of our genetic makeup, it maybe genes, part of it, but we need to intervene at all those levels, but we do tend to stereotype or stigmatize obese, very heavy people on our society is lazy, unable or unwilling to help themselves, and it makes people depressed, and when you are depressed many lose hope to eat more.
