Many of the top chronic conditions are caused by human behaviors, such as inactivity. In this video, HealthMaker Naser Partovi describes how patient engagement is critical to overcoming this trend toward chronic conditions.
i-cool is not for everybody, only engaged patients can benefit from it, and the more we can help, more people be engaged about their health, the better it's gonna be. I think that's what's gonna change the healthcare system that people get engaged about their health, and prevent as much as they can getting those diseases and help reduce funeral costs.
CDC has some amazing statistics about most chronic conditions. The top three or top four reasons for chronic conditions are all patients behavior based. We can avoid that. Number one is in activity, and as people have moved from farms to behind desk, our biology hasn't changed, and it's catching up with us in terms of chronic conditions.
So if we can get people engaged about their health and keep feeding them information they need to motivate them to take care of themselves, we can avoid a lot of this.
