A lot is still unknown about producing foods that the human body can process and balance metabolically. HealthMaker Mehmood Khan, MD talks about the future of food science and nutrients in this video.
I think we're going to be able to emulate nature and preserve enough food by processing even better the nutrients that nature has put in our foods, most of the nutrients we know, and based on what I just talked about in terms of our this interaction, we're going to be discovering new trends that we didn't even knew existed.
And as we do that, we're going to learn, that there's an interaction between us, between our food and our bodies. which is more than just nourishment and enjoyment, but actually is metabolic and regulatory. Very simply put, we're going to learn that food has two components, the nourishment that we need and the instructions on how to process it, they're going to come together, we're going to and as we we're going to be able to create food for much higher quality form a body balance point of view than we've ever imagined.
Mehmood Khan, MD, is chief executive officer of the Global Nutrition Group and chief scientific officer of PepsiCo. He discusses issues of nutrition, hunger, food security and the challenges of feeding a growing world population.
