Clean water is a public health issue that still plagues much of the world and causes significant disease. In this video, HealthMaker Joe Derisi, PhD explains how sewers, standing water and drinking water issues are infrastructure problems.
It's absolutely a necessary component of bringing up the level of public health in any kind of developing country. Clean water is also associated with things like malaria too. You can't have standing water around. This is true for Dengue fever as well it's the same mantra over and over clean water and so, in the case of diarrheal diseases it's really keeping a part drinking water part from waste water and so open sewer and other things like this are public health hazards and much of this is infrastructure problems.
Joe DeRisi, PhD, is a pioneer in genetic research techniques to understand the behavior of malaria and further prevention and treatment. He discusses the ethical issues of biomedical and genetic research.
