Read Transcript

We teach belly breathing so, breathing from your belly because we know that that can reduce the stress response, and actually have a physiological calming effect. We teach progressive muscle relaxation, we teach guided imagery, we teach something we call cognitive restructuring, which means challenging unrealistic thoughts and replacing them with more accurate realistic thoughts.

We teach talking to grown ups and knowing when to reach out and let someone know that you need help, we talk about doing fun activities and pleasant things to distract yourself when you can't make a situation better in the moment.
