There is a type of a school-based group treatment that we provided at Child Mind Institute called Coordinated Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools or CBITS and some kids who were exposed to 9/11 received CBITS groups in their schools and that was helpful to them.

And that is basically a group format in which kids learn. Relaxation strategies, coping skills, challenging on helpful thoughts, creating a narrative exposing yourself to scary memories so that you can learn that you are in control of it and it doesn't have to scare you forever.
