Medication can be extremely helpful. When it comes to a dramatic event, the first line treatment is usually cognitive behavioral therapy, if there are additional symptoms, panic attack, a lot of physical complains, not sleeping, colmobid or cold occuring depression and then we can describe medication as well and it can be quite helpful.

A lot of times for depression or other anxiety disorders is the combination of medication plus cognitive behavioral therapy that's most effective.
