In General, How Many Children Develop PTSD?

We know that about one in four children will experience a traumatic event at some point in their childhood, but it's subjective. So if a child doesn't really feel that their life was in danger they didn't feel fear, helplessness or horror at the time of the event, then they're probably not going to on to develop a disorder or have difficulty recovering.

About 16% of kids who are exposed to a traumatic event go on to develop post traumatic stress disorder.
