Ellen Leibenluft, MD, is senior investigator, chief of the section on bipolar spectrum disorders and co-chief of the Emotion and Development Branch at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). Dr. Leibenluft has been with the NIMH since 1989. Her work centers on bipolar disorder and severe irritability in children and adolescents: brain mechanisms, imaging and diagnosis, and treatment.
