How Can We Prevent Biodiversity Extinction?

Read Transcript

I think they come in the realm of public attention and a political will. We can solve the biodiversity extinction problem. To some extent, we're going to lose species. It's inevitable. That's probably beyond our control, as you lose a certain percent of patients in emergency room. But we can lose a lot of fewer and we stabilize biodiversity in the world, but we have to have a few things.

We have to have better knowledge of where the biodiversity is, and what part of it is most threatened. And we have to have the political will that usually we expect to come from the public up to political attention because in a country like this, United States really, it's the people who make the decisions.

The political leaders respond to what they see is the will of the people.
