Internet and other technologies can be very helpful for seniors facing specific, limiting problems. HealthMaker Debra Whitman describes the types of situations the internet can alleviate, as well as those it can't.
It depends on the type of care somebody needs. If it's slow touch, just making sure that they feel connected, if it's checking in with somebody to make sure they are keeping up with their appointments and their health and they are driving safely, those types of long distance feelings with the Internet can be a great way for families to stay together.
If there is need for high touch, cooking, bathing, lifting, those technologies often aren't quite there yet.
