America is a rapidly aging society. In this video, Healthmaker Bill Novelli explains how the right choices can turn this challenge into a benefit for society.
America can afford to grow older, there's no question about that and it will be to our benefit. But that's only if we make intelligent choices will make good decisions. It's not just we can let the clock run and let anything happen. We're up in the aging society. Older people consume more health care, social security is troubled, there're lots of different things about aging that require transformation, that require reform.
And yet on the other side of the ledger, there's so much that older people have to offer. So we have, we have this huge social opportunity that's staring us right in the face.
Bill (William) Novelli is a distinguished professor at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business and a former CEO of AARP. He discusses decisions about end-of-life medical care, regarding the medical community, patients, their families and society as a whole.
