Many people use smart phones, but plenty rely on other types of devices to get information. HealthMaker Bettina Experton, MD, MPH talks in this video about the reasons that electronic medical records should be available in a variety of formats.
I think in the population base, mobile is key. You have today's, lots of American who don't have computers in their homes but they carry a phone, it's their lifeline, and I think it break social economic barriers. Not everyone is always using a smartphone. And some will still use and are using computers in their home and feel more at ease using that computer in the home, so I think customers and patients should be presented with old choices to access information, access their own records, research information and keep their records whether it's using a mobile phone or a desktop in their home.
Relying on centralized system, where they can put all their information when it plays or use a more private device, such as using a smartphone..
Electronic medical records are key to mobile healthcare (mHealh), says Bettina Experton, MD, president and CEO of the health information technology company Humetrix. Smart healthcare consumers will maintain control their medical records.
