Why do people bite their nails? I want to know about this one. Well, researchers have actually studied this type of repetitive behavior in addition to skin peeking and hair pulling, they studied 24 people with this type of problems. They put them under various situations of stress, relaxation, frustrations and boredom.

They found that the behavior such as nail biting happens when people are stressed, frustrated or bored and not when they are relaxed, so for those behaviors which are common to perfectionists it would be important to help people and to find other ways to deal with those situations.

Is there genetic correlations between these type of activities? There is when it comes to hair pulling. Really? interesting. It can be a genetic phenomenon. >>Yes. That is very unique. And that is called trycotellomenia. Okay try and spell that out.
