What OTC Treatments Are Available for Plaque Psoriasis?

So the over-the-counter options are many,
and you can always start there before seeking medical help. And so the ones that I tell my patients to look for are anything with hydrocortisone in it
that isn't anti-inflammatory, which will help, especially in the solution when we can't get creams and things into the scalp, where there's hair bearing areas.
That's a really nice option. And then cold tar preparations, and there are a lot of shampoos that do not smell great,
but they work really well to help suppress the inflammation that is associated with psoriasis. So you can either use it in the scalp if it's there,
or even as a body wash, and try that first. If it doesn't help within two weeks, though, you should seek medical attention.
