Kind of a sensitive topic. How often could doctor tell parents when their kinds are overweight? Not enough. [LAUGH] A recent survey found that only 29% of parents of over weight children have been told that their children had a weight issue. This is better than in the past, but still unacceptable, considering that over 32% of children in US are overweight or obese.
And now why is it so important that parents are counselled regarding their children's weight? Because there are serious consequences of being overweight, not just for childhood, but heading into adult as well and kids are now getting adults diseases. Heart disease, diabetes you name it.
So, it's important that we're aware of it and do something.
