Transcript
Thyroid nodules are usually not an emergency you can call your doctor but you don't usually need to call your doctor in the middle of
the night. Sometimes people will actually notice a rapid increase in the size of the thyroid nodule but even that it's usually not
something too serious. Some thyroid nodules are fluid Filled and it's pretty common for people to bleed into a nodule which might
cause it to increase in size rapidly. And one of the key clues that that's what is going on is that the nodules tender to the
touch, whereas most of the time thyroid nodules are not tender. The thyroid nodules of course can represent a tumorous growths and those
tumors can be benign or malignant. Fortunately they are cancerous only a small percentage of the time. But even with that thyroid
cancer is relatively common and you need to exclude thyroid cancer so I would say that if you notice the growth of a nodule in your
neck or if you see an increase in the nodule that you know is there you should get in touch with your doctor and have that evaluated.
