Feeling cranky? In this Health Smarts video, Robin Miller, MD, reveals how drinking water and avoiding dehydration boosts energy and improves mood.
Hi, I'm Dr. Miller. Here's a tip to boost your energy. Dehydration can send your energy into a nose-dive. It can even put some people in a foul mood. The solution? Drink your H20. In one study water was withheld from a group of college students who were working out. They reported greater feelings of thirst and also more fatigue, anger, depression and confusion than a group of well-hydrated exercisers.
Researchers suspect that dehydration would probably cause these same side effects in people who are water deprived, even if they are not exercising. So stay on top of your fluid intake especially if you need an energy boost. For more ways to live well, watch all our smart tips right here.
