5 Tips to Fight Fatigue

Read Transcript

Hi, I'm Dr. Oz. Fighting fatigue? Here are five of my favorite tips to boost your energy. Banish carbs before noon. Many people start their day with simple carbs and sugary cereals and baked goods, the problem is, simple carbs give you a quick high but then you crash in no time. Instead, try a protein shake for breakfast to keep your energy up until lunch time.

Choose high fiber, high protein snacks, this winning combo keeps your blood sugar steady to maintain energy levels and a healthy waist line. Try a handful of pistachios, drink plenty of water, your body is made up of two thirds water, even a slight dehydration can leave you feeling lethargic. Walk everyday, even when you're tired, physical activity increases your energy level for up to two hours.

Start with just 10 minutes and try to work up to 30 minutes or even an hour per day, it will make a huge difference in your energy level. Breathe. Just one minute of deep breathing from your abdomen is a great way to re-energize and tame stress. I'm Dr. Oz. Watch all of our tips for more ways to feel great.
