Hi, I'm Dr. Oz. You love listening to music? Then don't let those headphones wreck your hearing. Wherever you use ear buds, remember to turn down the volume to at the most, 60% of max volume. Turns out your mp3 player can pump out over a hundred decibels, so don't let your earbuds cause hearing loss.

These days the latest devices are both let you groove to the tunes for hours at a time. Long or repeated exposure to sounds at or above 85 decibels can injure your inner ear and make music seem unhearable. There are delicate hair cells in your inner ear that transmit sound impulses to the brain the best way to ensure you don't have the volume cranked up over 70 decibels, is to see if you can still hear the outside world.

If you keep it in the easy listening range, chances are you'll be able to hear my show for 40 or more years. I'm Dr. Oz, for more easy ways to protect your health, watch all of our smart tips, right here.
