How to Get Picky Eaters to Love Vegetables

Hi, I'm Dr. Miller with today's smart health tip for you. Do you live with a picky eater? You're not alone. Lots of kids and plenty of adults, especially men can't stand broccoli and other strong flavored veggies like cauliflower and kale. That's because their taste buds are hypersensitive to bitter flavors.

Most people upgrow this reaction, but you don't want to wait that long for your kids to learn to love veggies. Here's an almost full proof way to get the broccoli off the plate and down the hatch, serve it with ranch dressing. The creaminess in the dressing helps tame the bitterness in the vegetables.

It's so effective that kids happily eat 80% more veggies, but choose your ranch dressing wisely. Many battle dressings having lots of sodium, sugar, and saturated fats. Instead, whip up your own homemade dip using fat free yogurt, a squeeze of lemon, garlic, a dash of salt, and whatever herbs and spices your family enjoys.

Tai Chis, parsley, dill, pepper, and maybe a little brown mustard, serve it with a plate of cut up veggies, and watch them disappear. Want more easy ways to nourish your family's health? Check out all our smart health tips, right here.
