Is juvenile arthritis connected to antibiotic used in children? Yes, a recent study found that when children are exposed to multiple antibiotic treatments they're at higher risk of developing juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. This is also being connected to inflammatory bowel disease such as crowns disease and all sorts of Colitis, antibiotics change the bacteria make up on the body in a way that may not be healthy.

So would you have any advice for parents based on that information?

Absolutely, do not demand antibiotics if your child has a viral infection and really try and stay away from them and keep your kids healthy. Get flu shots, and vaccines.
