Healthy School Lunches Help Prevent Childhood Obesity

Hi, I'm Dr. Altman with great tips about what to put in your kid's lunch box. A healthy lunch helps prevent child's obesity as well as high blood pressure, high LDL and high blood sugar. It builds strong bones too. These are some kid friendly and easy lunch time treats. Replace potato chips with crunchy dippable veggies, keep the crunch with colorful broccoli florets, red pepper strips, baby carrots, and cherry tomatoes.

Add a fun dip, such as a few tablespoons of hummus or salsa, upgrade the yogurt put on the bottom yogurt and those with mixing candy are often loaded with added sugar instead pack low fat or fat free plain yogurt with a container of fresh berries, orange sections or apple chunks and pack it all in a colorful lunchbox it makes the difference.
