See Better with Green Tea

Read Transcript

Hi, I'm Dr. Kevin Soden with a tip to help you see clearly, thanks to a zero calorie refresher that can pay some unexpected dividends for your vision, I'm talking about green tea. A new lab study suggested the flavonoids in green tea may help against the host division problems including Cataract, age-related macular degeneration and possible even some forms of glaucoma, one particular flavonoid found in green tea, maybe particularly good for your eyes.

Studies shows it tends to accumulate in the retina, that's a good thing because flavornoids in your retina function like biotic sunscreen protecting fragile cells against the sun's damaging rays. It's the same way that other vision friendly flavonoids found in spinach, kale and orange peppers operate. They also tend to concentrate in your eyes and project your retinas, so aim for at least a cup of green tea a day, it's great for your skin, your blood pressure, your memory and your eye.
