Skip These 3 Bad Habits

Hi, I'm Dr Miller. Do you have healthy habits most of the time, but let yourself off the hook at other times? Don't let these bad habits derail your hard work. Bad habit number one, too much TV time. By that I mean don't exercise and then sit in front of the TV the rest of the night. Watching more than two hours of TV a day can raise your odds for metabolic syndrome, a precursor to diabetes, heart disease and even some cancers.

So limit TV to less than two hours a day, and when you watch the two stretch or lift weights during commercials. Bad habit number two, you over indulge on weekends. Are you healthy all week only to let yourself go during the weekend? Well, be smart about your weekend indulgences. Off for a trip to the farmers market instead of the doughnut shop.

Bad habit number three. You grab fast food on the fly. Do you eat well at home, but grab junk food when you're busy? Consider this single high fat fast food meals floods your bloodstream with inflammatory compounds for the next three to four hours. That encourages the growth of heart-threatening plaque.

When you grab a bite on the run, choose the healthy turkey, lettuce and tomato sandwich on whole grain bread. I'm Dr. Miller. For more ways to live healthy watch all our smart tips right here.
