Hi, I'm Barbara Ficarra with a smart way to start your day. If you don't want to overeat at lunch or dinner, choose your breakfast wisely. There's a morning beverage choice that might help, skimmed milk. In one study, overweight people who drank skimmed milk instead of fruit juice at breakfast ate about 9% fewer calories at their mid-day meal.

The group had a few slices of toast with margarine and jam along with their milk or juice. Even though both breakfast had the same number of calories, the milk drinkers ate less at lunch. They simply felt more satisfied. What is it about milk that can help you lose weight? Milk has 8 grams of protein per serving, while juice has less than 1 gram.
