What can we do to change the way we store fat? In this video, Robin Miller, MD, explains how a new study could be the key to changing how our bodies interact with fat.
So is there anything that can change how we store fats? Yes, there are two types of fats. White fats stores are excess calories. White fat is that type of fat that causes big bellies. Brown fat burns calories and creates heat. A new study done in Denmark describes the process of reprogramming white fat cells to behave like brown fat cells.
The reprogrammed cells are called brite cells and this process can help with weight loss. So how can this conversion help? Well now they can have drugs that actually target converting white fat cells to the the brite cells. I know it's really amazing, and maybe we can get rid of belly fat that way.
That'd be nice. Fingers crossed.
