Help Relieve Pain With Strong Relationships

Read Transcript

Hi, I'm Dr. Wright with a secret for better pain relief. It's no secret that mutually supportive relationships help your health. One study found that these types of relationships were especially beneficial for women with rheumatoid arthritis. In the study, a blood test tracked the disease activity and response for women with the disease.

Women whose relationships had more mutuality had less inflammation during the 6 months than women who didn't enjoy such strong relationships. This doesn't mean that women felt supported by family and friends, they truly got something from the relationships, and enjoyed the reciprocal sharing that keep joints fro aching.

Mutuality has been linked to overall better mental health and longer life. So, turn off the TV and start talking to your loved ones. It's a great way to stay pain free. For more ways to live younger, watch all our smart tips, right here.
