I'm so excited! This weekend I'm headed to the Fitness & Health Bloggers Conference, this year held at the brand-new Anschutz Center for Health and Wellness, at the Univ. of Colorado Medical Center near Denver.

The Anschutz Center houses a state-of-the-art fitness facility, a human performance research lab, experimental kitchens and a healthy restaurant, a grocery lab, and a "green roof" rooftop garden where the facility grows its own fresh produce.  I'm especially excited to have the opportunity to try out the new state-of-the-art Technogym equipement. On this equipment, you program all of your personal stats and your goals onto a digital key, and that key is inserted into each piece of equipment as you move around the gym. The key will automatically set performance and resistance characteristics of the Technogym equipment as you move from station to station.

Exciting as that sounds, that's just the facility! The conference this weekend will bring together about 200 health and fitness bloggers to discuss topics including physical activity, nutrition, healthy weight and the current state of science on each of these topics. One of the conference objectives is to stress how health and fitness bloggers can communicate evidence-based information in their blogs. At the conference we're getting information first-hand from leading researchers in health and fitness. I'm excited to be among the bloggers who will be passing this information on to you!

Some of the topics that will be discussed include:

•The role of physical activity in individual and community health maintenance

•Using physical activity to maximize weight reduction and weight-loss maintenance

•Nutrition challenges beyond obesity in the American diet

•Eating healthy within a modern lifestyle

•Causes and consequences of overweight/obesity on the individual and nation’s physical and fiscal health

•The changing role of technology in achieving and maintaining weight-loss

As a part of my participation in this conference, I have decided to take a leap and do a complete re-vamp of my personal website. I've migrated my personal website onto a blogging platform, and one of the benefits of this is that you will be able to subscribe to my blog updates by email. I'll still be posting content here on ShareCare, but if you subscribe to my blog you'll get an email notice whenever I post new content. Although the website migration isn't yet finished- and the honestly my website looks very rough at the moment- the subscription button is up and working right now.

So yeah, I'm going on a business trip.... but I promise to bring back something you can use!

I hope you will consider subscribing to my blog, "Strides on Your Path" at www.yourpathpersonaltraining.com
