I have been getting bombarded with questions about the kinesio tape that some of the Olympic athletes have been using in the games this summer. What is it? Why are they wearing it? Does it do anything? The tape is supposed to allow the muscles to work more efficiently and reduce pain during training or competition. I have had clients that have used it and swear by its positive effects and I have clients that have noticed absolutely no benefits from it. I do know that everyone is looking for an edge and whether it’s the placebo effect or an actual benefit most athletes will go to great lengths to increase performance.
