Dr. Elena Kuklina, PhD


Dr. Elena Kuklina is a Senior Service Fellow at Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention (DHDSP). She joined CDC at the end of 2005 after receiving her PhD in Nutritional Epidemiology from Emory University. Her current research interests include the role of lifestyle modifications and drug treatment in management of lipid abnormalities at population level.

She has coauthored more than 60 peer-reviewed papers and government reports and mentored more that 10 students and fellows for a variety of national Public Health and Nutritional training program. She represented agency in more than 60 media interviews for major media outlets including Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Today’s Dietitian, WebMD, Better Homes and Gardens, Family Circle, Essence Magazine, Fitness Magazine, and Marie Claire Magazine on a variety of topics related prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
