Letting your body get dehydrated in the heat or after a workout can be dangerous. It decreases your performance, can make you mentally foggy and it slows down your metabolism. Stay strong with some of my favorite ways to hydrate:
  • Water: Nothing beats good ol’ H2O for hydrating during a day in the sun or after a workout, but it doesn’t have to be boring. Grab some sparkling water and add lemon or lime to make your water extra-refreshing.
  • Black Coffee: Coffee can enhance your mood and your energy. Plus it’s a great source of antioxidants. Just don’t wreck it with added sugar! Drink it black and on ice to energize your summer. Or turn up the taste and nutrition by adding a scoop of your favorite vanilla or chocolate protein powder in the morning or after a workout to help burn fat and build muscle.
  • Green Tea: Drinking green tea is one of the healthiest habits you can start. Not only does it help you stay hydrated, it also has antioxidant and anti-cancer benefits. Some research suggests it’s even a metabolism booster that can help you burn more fat.
I’d love to hear some of the ways you stay hydrated or rehydrate after a workout. Leave a comment to let me know.
