Does candidiasis affect children differently than adults?

Infants commonly have candidiasis infection in the mouth, called thrush. The condition often resolves itself and is not considered a problem unless it lasts longer than two weeks. Thrush in adults is considered more unusual and may require treatment. In adults the condition can be a sign of suppressed immunity.
